The American Red Cross is chartered by Congress to help disaster victims and to be a liaison between the serviceman's family and the military. However we receive no funding from the American government.
None of this would be possible without the generous contributions of the American people People like you. Your gift to the Red Cross will make a difference in someone's life. Probably someone you know!
This year the American Red Cross of Iroquois County celebrates it's 80th year. Since 1918 we have been here to help the family pick up the pieces after losing all they had in a fire or flood. We've been here to teach the child to swim to prevent needless drownings. We've been here to teach CPR and First Aid to individuals who have used this knowledge to keep a friend, loved one, co-worker or a stranger alive until professional help arrived. We've been here as one neighbor helping another.
We've been here because you cared enough to support this Cause with your generous donations. Not only in terms of financial donations, but in time. You can make a difference in Iroquois County! Without the financial support of our community, we could not continue with these programs, but we also need volunteers who are willing to help with our various functions. Would you like to help with disaster victims, become an instructor for one of our classes or help out at the bloodmobiles? Contact us today to see how you can help. We've been here and will continue to be here because you care.
