iMac Fast Dialup Setup

• Click open "Internet Setup Assistant"

• Click the "Update" button"

• Click for "Add Internet Configuration" For the name of the configuration put "Local Line", and click for "Modem" for connecting to the Internet, continue.

• Choose the Modem you are using, the appropriate port, and pick "Tone".

• Insert the appropriate Local Line phone connection number for your area, then input your user ID and password, continue.

• Pick "No" for IP address, continue.

• If any entrys exist in the Name Server box change them to:

  • 65.42.236.2 on the first line and
  • 206.105.10.4 on the second line.
• In Search domains type in localline.com
  (or carlnet.org or localline2.com).

• Input your email as yourusername@localline.com, write the email password, continue.

• For POP Account put mail.localline.com, for SMTP put smtp.localline.com, continue.

• Newsgroup settings, news.localline.com, continue.

The Assistant now has all the information necessary to connect your Mac. to Local Line, click to connect.
